As the Holidays approach, many locals anticipate the first weekend of December in downtown Black Mountain.
For those who don't know, let me share with you all of the exciting events that will be taking place this weekend!
It all starts with Holly Jolly in downtown Black Mountain on Friday, Dec 1st; this event takes place in the streets downtown, where most shops will stay open late offering seasonal treats and refreshments while you can browse through the stores and maybe check some shopping items off of your list! Our little quaint downtown will have twinkling white lights, garland, and trees lining the streets. There will be carolers and even Santa will be making an appearance down by the Depot! The streets will fill with our neighbors and friends and it's a great way to start the Holiday season.
On Saturday, Black Mountain's Christmas Parade will begin around 4:00PM and runs along State Street from Flat Creek Rd to Cragmont Rd. Our residents look forward to this parade all year long. Be sure to find a good spot to sit and watch all of the floats, bands, dogs, and more! The children line up along the sidewalk anxiously awaiting candy to be thrown in their direction. You can hear sounds of the season playing with each new group that passes by. After the parade, folks travel down Cragmont Rd to Lake Tomahawk where you can watch the display of lights.
This weekend will be one of seasons greetings, warm smiles, and holiday happiness felt wherever you go! Be sure to mark your calendars now!
